News Dirctors

Matt Irvin
Matt is hands down the laziest News Director ever.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
They run the reporters like dogs and cannot fill positions because they are dead set on low pay and padding the pockets of the top folks. The General Manager Charity Holman hired her entire family in the top pay positions of the organization.
Being competitive is not a priority for this station and they will do nothing to help you grow for the next market. If you like to cover ribbon cuttings for business that will make the station money, this place is for you.

An Overall Toxic Work Environment
To say this station is toxic is an understatement. Management is clueless and live in their own worlds, hardly ever going out to speak with their employees. They're more concerned more about making money and the stations appearance, than they are about reporting news or their employees. I'm surprised people here even have any idea on what their jobs are, as there is little to no guidance, especially in the newsroom. When people do get together, its to talk trash about people in other departments or their own. It literally felt like I was in high school with the amount of drama and gossip that went on here. Not that management cares. They wouldn't even get involved when an employee who is known to have a horrible temper, screams and yells at others, had put hands on another co-worker. He was still working their when I left that cesspoll of a tv station.
If your looking to get into the industry, go somewhere else. Better yet, leave the state. There is nothing interesting here to cover, and this place will leave you drained, isolated, undervalued and miserable. Now some of the people here are decent folks, several others I have my own opinions of, but the overall problem is management. Until something is done about it, I feel there is no hope for this place.

An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Where do I begin? This entire station is a chaotic mess at all times. There is an overall feeling of misery the second you walk in the building everyday. Management is completely clueless and incompetent. I’ve seen multiple people walk out of meetings with management in tears, including anchors. Yet they’re baffled that nobody wants to work here. Very few people actually have a decent understanding of what their job is in the newsroom and people talk about quitting all the time. People from other departments are outright rude and condescending, yet nothing is ever done. We rarely cover any interesting news. All the technology is outdated.
Unless gray takes a serious look into this place, I feel there’s zero hope for any improvement. I would avoid this place like the plague. There are some in the newsroom that are wonderful people, but it seems even their patience has run out.
