News Dirctors
Pretty good. They do a lot of clever things which is nice. There's an emphasis on being clever and creative. It's hyper local. An hours drive is "far away". I think the catch is it's a larger market because there's a lot of military, which adds numbers of viewers, but the military is selective about what can be covered and how, so as a news market it's not really bustling, it often seemed a bit sleepy. It's a good station for covering the softer side of news.
As a market it seemed a bit expensive, hold out for a bit more money. Make sure they're really interested in hiring you.
Younger, idealistic, and local to the immediate area. Not very practical or likely to adhere to procedures. Conservative editorial decisions. Fairly smart. Not all that "competitive or driven".

Racial Discrimination, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Very white, racist, news director does not seem to care about diversity or uplifting others voices in the newsroom.
Save yourself the agony, stay as far away from this station as possible. Not only is it beyond toxic, the managers are absolutely useless, with one watching YouTube videos and movie clips throughout his entire shift. Allison is considered to be incredibly sexist to the women of the newsroom unless you’re a senior anchor who’s good graces can benefit her career. Appalling, abhorrent, do NOT work here.

There was no news director when I was there.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Kevin Rafferty, is the text book definition on newsroom toxicity. Once told me to “walk across the street” to 7/11 for mic batteries. Belittled me in front of staff. Cares more about his kids little league baseball than anything else.
Go work for wavy instead
