An Overall Toxic Work Environment

Kristen Bentley, the assistant news director, is an evil angry loud bitch. She makes reporters feel stupid and yells constantly. She’ll never speak to you unless she needs something or wants to correct you in the most demeaning way possible. If you didn’t think of something in your story, in her eyes, you are the stupidest person to walk the planet earth. Every little issue is the end of the world and when those issues happen she makes sure to yell and make it everyone else’s problem. Her only redeeming qualities are that she leaves before the 6:00 is over and that if there’s an investigation she might leave the other reporters alone. The EP Ryan Murphy is a great guy but he grew up in the are and only know how that station works and management abuses him.

When I interviewed I asked if there was any micro managing. They said no. Do not believe them. There is no room for creative improvement. You do things their way or you’re wrong. If I had the chance to go back in time I would have never came here. This station is a #1 but it’s because they are a legacy station and that alone allows them to hire the best which leaves their competition in the dust. The people who have been there for years don’t know any better because it’s the only station they know. It’s a shit show and you’d be better doing somewhere else.
