Melissa Medalie
This is by far the worst and most toxic station I ever worked for, and it’s not even close. The station is extremely unorganized. Melissa Medalie sets the tone for the chaotic newsroom. She claims to have an open door policy. But bringing up concerns always leads to responses that feel dismissive and manipulative. She’ll blame you for situations you’re trying to resolve.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Certain anchors were allowed to yell at reporters and speak to them in disrespectful ways, and nothing was done to address it. There was also a lack of accountability from leadership. When decisions created problems or hurt morale, I rarely saw acknowledgment or any effort to improve things. If you’re not an anchor at this station, or on the morning show, you don’t matter.
Worst newsroom I have ever worked for!!

Melissa Medalie
Horrible. The worst kind of ND to work for. She was a manipulative, toxic, micromanager who makes everyone’s lives harder.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
News stations are chaotic, but this one takes the cake. It was a mess every day with poor leadership. People are handed out write-ups like candy because the management doesn’t know how to have constructive conversations without making you feel terrible. People run away from this place as soon as they can for a reason.
Never work here or for Melissa. She has no clue what she is doing and will make your life hell. How she is still employed at this station despite a disturbing amount of turnover is a mystery. She is the problem!

Melissa Medalie
Melissa Medalie only considers her own opinion and tends to treat people like they are less than her or an inconvenience. Only values her own a opinion.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
I have been bullied and witnessed others be bullied. Hostile work environment for sure.
Revolving door. News Director Melissa Medalie is abrasive, lacks experience and has only been promoted because her predecessors were fired and someone was needed to fill the spot. Station GM Mike McClain is a micromanager and control freak. Benefits are great, pay sucks. Have been told that I could not take time off to be with dying family member because “we have a business to run.” Saw others fired for sticking up for themselves after their appearance was attacked. Workplace safety is not a priority. Will not provide final copy of paystub.

Melissa Medalie
She is easy to anger, doesn't listen to anything you have to say, isn't sympathetic if it goes against her ideas or thoughts.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
You are simply a tool to be used by her and the station, they say it's a team environment, but they go out of their way to make sure it's not; and once you go against anything they stand for there is no more "team," you are alone in a void.
It's a depressing environment that does little for the employees beyond the benefits. It's unfulfilling work that is constantly picked over. There is very little in the way of education or advancement opportunities. Your efforts can easily be looked over and discarded. The only time you hear from management is if there's a problem or to be criticized. It seems the whole basis of their "news" is copying other stations and avoiding any lawsuit, so the material is very watered down. There is a constant revolving door of employees for a reason. It usually goes in waves. First it might be the news team, then it will be sales or engineering/technicals and then it just starts all over again. It really feels like you are in a dead end after a while. And forget about looking at opportunities elsewhere, they will hamstring you and bad mouth you if they can to not get you to leave or go to a competing station. Just don't work here.

ND: Melissa Medalie, AND: James Warner
The worst station I ever worked for.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
This was the most hectic, unorganized and mismanaged newsroom I had ever experienced. Not only were you thrown at multiple stories each day, the management is constantly panicking and the senior management (news directors) are incredibly degrading with little cause. It's a place many people are leaving or have already left. My husband also bent over backwards for this station for four years. He rarely missed a day and was promoted often. When he announced he was leaving three weeks before his contract was up they made him pay a buyout and we believe (but cannot prove) caused a job offer he had taken to fall through the cracks. I would NEVER recommend anyone work for this dumpster fire.
FOX O and O does have great benefits but it ends there.

Racial Discrimination, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
This place had great staff and we got along really well. The management truly was bad we had 4 ND is three years and the last ND got his job because he was the last one standing. Most of the reporters and photog team have left this station because of the toxic environment. I was warned by a former co-worker not to go to WOFL a.k.a W-Aweful. She was right. The former news director Bob Clinkingbeard who was also fired about a year ago from WTSP in Tampa is a bully. He told one African American reporter before he hired her ..." I know you've heard bad things about this station but you can call a few black women that I've hired and they will tell you I'm fair and not racist." Who does that......?
This place you should avoid. There are other station in Orlando that run smoothly. There is an EP Melissa Medilie she is another nightmare . She is now the AD and a parrot for Jeff Zeller.
