Very meh.
Sexual Discrimination, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
When I asked for a medical accommodation, not only was I denied, but the GM also mocked me for it. The workplace is extremely toxic. Everyone on the dayside shift is extremely immature and negative; there is often yelling in the newsroom for absolutely no reason, and many staff members hate each other. Overnight is extremely understaffed and you're left alone to manage. Nightside is often understaffed as well. The GM also talks bad about employees to other employees. I was one of many who left within a span of a few months. I told as many managers as I could about the issues I was having. What I said was ignored. This station saw a ton of people leave in only a few months, and most of them were fired or broke contract. There's a reason for that.
If you're thinking about working there, don't. It's an unorganized mess. You'll end up working there a few months or a year and realize you don't want to be there anymore and have to buy out. Also, every raise comes with a contract extension. You'll be underpaid, over worked and underappreciated.

It was pleasant working with him.
WHSV is a good starter market station and a great place to build contacts, learn the ropes of being an MMJ and totally independent. The station does have its ups and downs like any other station but that is to come.

Jay is one of the best bosses I've ever had. He's fair, he treats everyone with kindness, and he puts people first. The newsroom is a healthy atmosphere and he genuinely cares about his employees. He know we're a small market and helps us grow.
A great starter station! Very hands on. Lots of opportunities to go live for MMJ's. If they need help running a live shot, they can usually get it.
