News Dirctors

Ryan Scott
His ambitions appeal to a corporate that wants to change what news looks and feels like, but his lack of in-field experience and limited people skills causes challenges with reporters, as well as some producers, meteorologists and photogs. If he does not perceive you as being a person in a position of power, his treatment of you will reflect that perception.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
There is frequent commiseration among employees regarding job dissatisfaction and morale is very low. There are few women and no minorities on the management team of any of the station's departments. The HR representative is rarely present, and reportedly unsympathetic when employee complaints of burnout, anxiety, depression, or related issues arise.
Many of the reporters are straight out of college, so it is a training ground. But it has a wild turnover rate, and there are no measures in place to gauge employer performance. There are only quarterly check-ins of employees and employee performance.
It is an ambitious station that wants to change the look and feel of news reporting. But reporters feel like disposable pawns used to advance corporate aspirations within management. Scripps is a great company on a grand scale. But be cautious about accepting a position with WGBA, and try to negotiate for the shortest contract term allowable. Learn what you need to, and move someplace healthier as soon as you can.

Horrific. Ryan Scott lacks respect for anything in the newsroom. He is incredibly fake and his idea of management is laughable
Sexual Discrimination, Racial Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Ryan Scott has a trend of choosing one or a few people to bully and latch on to. He will micromanage everything you do and bully you until you are no longer able to do you job. Then proceed to make you feel as if it is your fault that you are performing well.
I will NEVER say anything bad about the News employees. They were the most amazing people and the only reason I was able to stick around for as long as I did after the abuse from management.

Crazy, but a good crazy. Wants the best out of everyone. High expectations. She cares about you.
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Some very negative people. It's a station that is low budget and under-staffed.
It's a good place to go because they are understaffed so you can get the best stories. Julie is willing to go above and beyond but the GM, Pete, is extremely cheap. Julie makes you do overtime a lot.
