WBIR

WBIR is the #1 station in the Knoxville DMA. It has been for decades, and that won't change anytime soon. Our slogan is "Straight from the Heart," and I think that speaks volumes to the way the station operates. Most of the anchors have been here for a long time, so they know East Tennessee like the back of their hand. They are friendly, helpful and provide phenomenal feedback. Also, the MMJ culture here is really great... we work together and learn from one another. We are also friends outside of work (and I mean, what more could you really ask for). Management brings in a lot of food for us, too, which is really cool.

Sometimes it's confusing to know who to report to... the ND is new and up until recently didn't have an assistant ND either. Most days, the news ship is being sailed by EPs, anchors and senior reporters. It's hard to know who to call "Captain" at any given time.

Other than that, no complaints.

I feel like I'm growing here. It's easy to do when you're surrounded by such talented journalists.
