News Dirctors

Brigid Jaipaul-Valenza
Horrible with communicating to her newsroom: never gave me or other reporters an expected timeline for completed work, insensitive to issues surrounding mental health/disability, lacks an understanding on how to give proper behavior or story feedback. Extremley out of touch with the journalism industry at large.
Racial Discrimination, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
She picks and chooses who she wants to work with, rather than where people's experiences lie. Over she's only filled the news environment with people she thinks are similar to her to be protected from other opinions, backgrounds, and differences she perceives as a threat. Many legacy reporters have voluntarily left under her management for reasons such as these. She has openly displayed discomfort with people's successes when they're seemingly "different" than her, which then leads to a refusal in providing equal opportunities.
It's a wonderful place to work for creative freedom, and the reporters do an incredible job. But the management needs desperate change.
