Sexual Discrimination, Racial Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, An Overall Toxic Work Environment

During my time at KTSM, I worked under David Candelaria. He has slept with corporate employees at nexstar and because of that, he’s gotten away with a lot. He keeps denying it. One of the things he would do is remove anchors specifically because they just had a baby. He would say they’re too fat and need to be off the air. He would say anchors are ruining their lives by becoming moms and gaining baby weight: he moved a mom from anchor to producer. He would sexually harass a lot of women and they would explain they’re very uncomfortable. He also promises young attractive reporters and anchors that they’d make a lot of money; they’d be able to have successful careers, but he would just sleep with them. He has had a lawsuit filed against him for the sexual harassment at his previous employer. Nexstar does a great job at hiding all his mistakes. He tells women not to wear their rings on air because all women need to look single and attainable. We’ve tried going to corporate and HR but he always finds a way to quash it. He’s done creepy massages for women in other departments without their consent . One time he told a group of employees one of the girls at work has “huge t**ts” and she overheard it.

7-8 news directors got escorted out of the building or either fired by David Candelaria. I want nexstar to be held accountable and I need David to held accountable for everything he’s done to hurt young journalists.
