Sexual Discrimination, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Very toxic work environment. No matter how much you put in and how hard you work, they’ll only focus on the bad. The previous news director was demoted because he was incompetent and terrible at his job. But the GM is just as inept but she has ties to upper management. Both are terrible managers but just terrible human beings as well. Nepotism runs rampant. And family members of the GM are all over the place, regardless of their lack of ability and talent.
Just avoid at all costs. The coworkers are amazing, but you will not grow here. You will only dread coming to work everyday.

Horrible. He is incompetent, a hot head, and a miserable person. Worst news director I have ever met.
Sexual Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Nepotism runs rampant here. The GM (Bridget Breen) is married to the evening anchor, so he is allowed to basically do whatever he pleases, while the already understaffed newsroom tries to compensate. They even have hired their own teenage children as photogs and producers. The GM and ND are both inept and try to rule with fear, since intelligence and good leadership is something they both lack. Morale is low and there is constant employee turnover, since it is a HORRIBLE place to be. I'm not sure they have ever had a fully staffed newsroom, because people are constantly quitting. There is no guidance as an MMJ, but any mistakes will be harshly punished.
The coworkers were all great people, but mostly miserable since they hate working there. Trust me, there are much better options for your first station. Don't go here.

Sexual Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Sexist, totally rude, jerk, females are just not fit for here, toxic work environment, also GM hates females
Huge nepotism. It is known as the Breen station. Mom, Dad, and Son work here. Quincy owned it but they got bought out by Gray Television. General manager is the main anchor's Husband??? Yeah, problem. News Director is a complete jerk and acts like he runs a top 40 station when it is market 149. Also, production employees are nice but the general manager promoted someone who is not even Television professional to be the production manager.... he is a complete joke. Andrew doesn't know what he is doing but got promoted to be a puppet for the general manager. All managers are worthless and I would not work here. This station is a joke. Keith and Bridget are the main problem.... the sales team seems like a great team to work for though!

Absolutely awful
Sexual Harassment, An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Sexual harassment was from an employee in a different department. Once *several* women shared their stories the individual was let go immediately. Five years too late but... better than never. Overall toxic work environment is felt by everyone in the news department. Morale is SO LOW. The leadership is just straight mean.
The team is awesome. People are kind, helpful, and genuinely good. Leadership is a different story. The ND and GM are absolutely terrible a their jobs, but also just make people feel like trash. No one feels valued. You'll give 110% and it still won't be enough. They will not give anyone benefit of the doubt and just assume the worst in you. If you want feel like you're a worthless piece of garbage, start here. If you want a work environment to grow you and invest in your potential... go literally anywhere else. Hope the station gets better once Gray takes over.

Keith was nice but not great at leading his team. He wasn't very organized and the communication between the newsroom and production was poor.
The production department is great here. They are helpful and knowledgeable. The newsroom is very unorganized and lacks leadership. Management at the station is terrible. Everything they do is self serving and never for the people that work for them. There is no communication between departments. The news director is horrible at letting production know what is going on or what he is thinking. But, he has no problem yelling at you for doing something wrong. You might find a better starter market somewhere else but this station is educational and you will learn. The production/engineering department is good at giving constructive criticism to you and helping if you have a question.

An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Very hostile. Management is quick to ridicule the moment you do something wrong. Profits are more important than treating employees like humans.
Moral is very low and nepotism is a huge problem. Expect to work very long hours to only get paid for your scheduled day. Everyone is micromanaged. Nothing you do will ever be good enough no matter how hard you try.
Don't work at this station unless you really want to sell your soul to the devil.
