Painful
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Toxic waste pit, lots of disability discrimination, lies about salary increase and bonuses, insane hours that made me contemplate suicide. It felt like I could never escape my job. Never trust anybody who says they have your back in particular department heads. If offered a job there run away. You'll hate yourself and you'll develop a substance habit. I'm a recovering alcoholic and pot head because of this place. It was the only place to treat my anxiety. As the IT guy I saw reporters going through the buzz saw that is the news room and not feel comfortable or even safe at their job. Even when reporting that reporters didn't feel safe or comfortable nobody did anything. If you tried to make the place more accomidating or even more professional you'd get written up. I had to have every email I wrote screened by the Chief Engineer or GM for because of doing my job and an anchor aggressively retaliating. I was discriminated against for being on the spectrum, and they refused to ever accommodate me, the day the old IT guy was brought back as an assignment editor I was yesterday's news and tossed to the side like a broken toy. Anything I ever said was never cared about, and was treated like I wore a scarlet letter.
Top down this station needs to be cleaned out. It's a literal cancer. The sales people are forced to lie about packages ads, the chief is clueless and doesn't even know how to use a web browser and will stab you in your back and lie to your face, I was heavily discriminated against for having a mental disability most days I felt useless and would cry in my office or the promotion room, there's some good people here but they're far and few between. Wouldn't even come here if I was desperate. Hard as even a stepping stone for IT. Just do yourself a favor and don't even apply, you'll thank me later.

It was great at the start but truly has declined and it feels like I’m free falling and it feels draining to go to work now
An Overall Toxic Work Environment
Most of us reporters briefly make an appearance in the newsroom and then go hide out in an edit bay to get work done. Newsroom frequently feels like locker room talk rather than a respectable office space
At this time I would not recommend this as a place to work. I’m hoping for improvement but also be aware this station is much farther from the action. Located in a rural area. So a ton of driving is involved
