Sexual Discrimination, An Overall Toxic Work Environment

Males are chosen over females for behind the scenes roles. Females do not make as much money as males.

What KHOU forced their employees to go through during Hurricane Harvey, should scare away any person thinking of working there. Just Google it and the images should say it all. A true southern news station has a hub outside of hurricane territory and should hub out of there immediately rather than forcing their employees to swim out of a 100-year flood.

I’m not an MMJ but was on-air. The new station is nice. The environment, not so much. The ND had her favorites. Just overall not a good experience.

The KHOU newsroom isn't toxic, it's just terribly disorganized, lacks leadership, and has no structure. The management team is very green and the dayside EP falsified timesheets for several producers, to eliminate the overtime they rightfully worked. It has the feeling of a small market and that's obvious in the on-air product. It's unfortunate because KHOU used to be a heritage and legacy station in the market.

KHOU is a unique place. The newsroom is enjoyable to be in. People LOVE working here.
