Job Description

KPLC-TV in Lake Charles seeks a motivated and dynamic Anchor/MMJ to join our news team. The successful candidate must be a proven leader who is motivated and passionate about storytelling. The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator who excels in reporting. The ability to cultivate sources and produce enterprise stories is a must. Applicant must have a love for local news, a passion for creative storytelling, and a positive attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

          • Generating story ideas, setting up interviews, shooting/editing stories, anchoring on both linear and streaming platforms.
          • The role also requires maintaining professional social media accounts, assisting producers in showcasing stories, and producing content for our streaming channel.

Qualifications/Requirements:

          • Possessing strong live reporting skills and being driven by breaking news.
          • The successful candidate must also be proficient on all digital platforms.
          • Experience in shooting and editing own stories; a college degree in journalism or related field is also required.
          • Driving is required for this position, so an MVR check is required.
